William B. Davis

The iconic Cigarette Smoking Man on The X-Files, Mr. Davis has 100+ on-screen credits in television and film. He will be signing autographs in the museum, and his new book On Acting...and life will be available.

Part memoir and part master class, On Acting...and life takes readers on a seventy-year journey that begins with William B. Davis, at age twelve, riding his bicycle through the streets of Toronto to his first acting classes, and eventually leads to a starring role in The X-Files.

 Along the way, Davis met all sorts of familiar faces, including Donald Sutherland, Brian Cox, Albert Finney, Laurence Olivier, Maggie Smith, David Duchovny, and Gillian Anderson, among others.

The X-Files Fan Event is about coming together and sharing our stories, making new connections, and spending time away from daily worries. This is not a gigantic, impersonal, event. Tickets are limited. Enjoy a tour of the X-Files Museum and an optional after party featuring contests, cosplay, trivia, special speaker, and more!

The X-Files Preservation Collection & Collectibles is something every fan should experience if given the opportunity, which is why we teamed up to create this unique Fan Event. We are working carefully to build the day and create a sense of connection among X-Philes who can join us.

About the Museum

The X-Files Preservation Collection and Collectibles opened April 30, 2022 with guest of honor, series creator Chris Carter.  Featuring thousands of screen-used props, wardrobe, and set dressings from the groundbreaking series, fans will recognize iconic pieces from the show, never-before-seen behind the scenes items, and more.

Who are you and what is this event?

The X-Files Fan Retrospective started as a small documentary by fans Lauren and Carly. The project now includes  more than 100 cast & crew interviews of The X-Files and countless fan stories. Along the way we met  Jim and Kelly Thornton, owners of the newly opened X-Files Museum & Preservation Collection. 
The X-Files Museum opening was attended by none other than Chris Carter, X-Files series creator and wielder of giant ribbon-cutting-scissors. The opening attracted fans from all over the world and created a unique space for fans to connect as they waited for their museum tour.
Lauren loved the energy of the day, and later approached Jim and Kelly to hold a fan event near their spectacular museum. They were like "sure!" which brings us to this point in time.

How are you funding this?
We cannot run this event without fan support. Please purchase your event ticket ASAP.  Doing so helps us to finance this event.

I don't know any other fans, should I attend alone?
In our experience, The X-Files community is warm, approachable, compassionate, and caring.  You could walk up to most people and start a conversation and likely leave with a new friend or two. We encourage you to find your people here, and we will be playing some icebreakers and group games so start packing your suitcase!

Will you refund my ticket if I don't go?
This event, like almost every other event in history, is non-refundable. 

What if it rains while I am in line?
Embrace it, dance in it, and then head to the gift shop to buy a new, dry X-Files shirt.  Or, bring an umbrella.

Are kids free?
We love new generations of X-Philes, kids 12 and under are free to enter The X-Files Museum with a paid adult. However, this event has a strict ticket cap, so the after party is ticketed guests only.

Can I bring my pet?
No pets, please. Please e-mail us should you require a service animal and we will happily accommodate you.

What should I wear?
There is a cosplay contest (with prizes!) at the after party but please feel free to wear whatever you want all day! Show off your best X-Files shirt or dress as your favorite Agent! Be comfortable. 

What can I expect at The Museum?
Every ticket includes admission to The X-Files Preservation Collection & Collectibles. Inside you will find iconic props, set, wardrobe, celebrity guests signing autographs for an additional fee, and a gift shop. We will be having some fun in and around the museum that day Feel free to bring a chair, a blanket,  and hang out with fellow X-Philes.

Will there be alcohol?
We are not serving alcohol at the X-Files Museum, the after party location offers a cash bar.

What if I'm not a super fan?  Can I still attend?
The last few years have been rough for everyone. We are hosting this Fan Event to connect, and have a good time. We welcome new fans and old fans with open arms. Let's do this.

How can I help?
We are seeking volunteers to assist with a few things during the day, thank you for asking! Please email us at: Thexfiles25doc (at) gmail (dot) com with VOLUNTEER in the subject line. You will of course be rewarded with good karma, high fives, and some X-Files swag.

 We are looking for volunteers to help our tiny team! Don't do it for us, do  it for Queequeg.
